How long does it take for my carpet to dry after cleaning?
- Commercial cleaning average: 1-2 Hours
- Residential cleaning average: 4-5 Hours
Are the solutions ACS uses safe for humans, pets, the environment?

Yes, all solutions we use are bio-degradable “green-clean” certified with little to no offensive fragrance once the carpet has fully dried. In addition, our final step for residential cleaning is to rinse with Hot Water so no residues are left behind!

What methods of carpet cleaning does ACS use?

The method we use to clean carpet depends on the installation:

Commercial installation, Very Low Moisture cleaning (VLMC). Residential installation, Hot Water Extraction cleaning (HWE, i.e. steam cleaning)

Aren’t all carpet installations the same?

No! In fact there are two very different ways to install carpet, both of which require different methods of cleaning for optimum results. “Glued Down” installations are typically found in commercial settings and the carpet is literally glued down to the subflooring. “Padded” installations are typically found in residential settings and require a pad to be laid over the subflooring with a perimeter of tack-strip. The carpet is then laid over the pad and stretched into place, and is held by the tack-strip.

Does ACS have different cleaning methods for all services?

In general, no. However, carpet cleaning services are unique in that we use either the HWE or VLMC method, depending on the installation (described above), to achieve optimum results. We used Hot Water Extraction with the appropriate solutions to clean Area Rugs, Upholstery, VCT, Tile & Grout.

How do I know if I need “Deep Cleaning” for my carpet?

Our first step upon arrival to your job site is to assess the carpets condition to accurately recommend a level of cleaning. Factors such as the age of the carpet, amount of traffic, type of carpet fiber/weave, and carpet installation will determine what level or service your job will need.

How often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?

Average recommendation is based your traffic: Commercial carpets are made of a tough fiber, but the traffic is 10-100 times that of residential! As such we recommend cleaning every 6-12 months. Residential should be cleaned every 12-18 months. However, every situation is different and some may require more frequent or less frequent cleanings.

When is it time to replace my carpet?

Once your carpet is presenting signs of significant wear such as “traffic lanes”, “filtration lines”, and permanent stains, no method or level of cleaning can reverse time. Proper maintenance as well as personal tolerance will influence replacement decisions, but in general… Commercial carpets can last 20 to 30 or more years, while residential carpets are more delicate, lasting about 10 to 20 years.

How can I get an estimate for how much my job will cost?

Simply call us!

Commercial facilities require a free on-site visit. We need to accurately measure the area you wish to clean and assess the man-hours required for the project proposed. A PDF/email of your actual work order will be sent within 24 hours.

Residential customers receive an immediate estimate over the phone. Based on the information provided (describe the specific areas you wish cleaned) and we provide an accurate price range of what your job will cost.

On all our jobs, the actual work order is written and presented for approval before we begin any work.

What preventative measures can I take to preserve my Carpets, Natural Stones/grout, or VCT?

Carpet and rugs (especially wools)- In order to prevent stains from becoming permanent, we recommend applying “acid-dye” (Stainmaster) protection as well as a fluorochemical (Scotch Guard) to protect from pre-mature wear. Both levels of protection are combined in the new generation products.

Commercial carpet only needs a flourochemical which is contained in our solution…..

Natural Stone or tile/grout- Do not clean using an acid solution, only neutral (on Stone) or alkaline. Always seal with a clear ‘impregnating’ sealer to prevent spills from binding to your stone or grout. A topical sealer eliminates the stone’s, concrete’s or mortar’s ability to ‘breath’…..

Vinyl Composite Tile (VCT)- Requires that you maintain a good coating of wax to confine any marks or dirt. Periodically strip away the old dirty wax and refinish with fresh coats to keep that new glossy look.
